Annick de Giry & Bruno Pilorget
Annick de Giry is an art historian, children’s author, and travel enthusiast. She previously worked at the Centre des Monuments Nationaux, where she created heritage workshops, and also taught art history before turning to children’s publishing as a writer. She currently resides in Châtenay-Malabry, France.
Bruno Pilorget, born in 1957 in Vannes, France, is a French illustrator. After studying at the Beaux-Arts of Lorient, he dedicated himself entirely to illustration. To date, he has illustrated over sixty children’s books.
Collaboration: “Les Enfants de l’Espoir” (The Children of Hope)
Together, Annick de Giry and Bruno Pilorget collaborated on the book Les Enfants de l’Espoir: Pour un Monde Solidaire (The Children of Hope: For a World of Solidarity), published in 2016 by Éditions des Éléphants.
This book tells the inspiring stories of eight children from different countries, including the Philippines, Pakistan, Colombia, India, Brazil, Malawi, Canada, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Despite facing challenging circumstances, these young individuals showed resilience and worked towards a fairer world, becoming symbols of hope and courage.
