Debdas Chakraborty

A sports and adventure aficionado right from his childhood, Shri Debdas Chakraborty (82 years old as on 2023) joined Assam Police as a Sub Inspector in 1964. He received several promotions and eventually retired as a Commandant. During his illustrious career, Shri Chakraborty had the opportunity to work at various places under varied circumstances, in almost all the departments of Police. On all these occasions, he had earned quite a name for himself as an able officer whilst discharging his duties admirably with honesty, diligence and dedication. He was known for his sensitivity and ability to get to the root of the issue during the course of his crime investigation and supervisory work. His vast experience gave him the opportunity to witness, understand and realise many complexities concerning police work. This book is a compilation of many of his adventurous, sublime supernatural experiences gathered in the course of his 36-year-long career. Shri Chakraborty took up this project about 14–15 years after his retirement after receiving an inspiration from Sri Sri Ma, a spiritual luminary, during his sojourn in Deobhumi Uttarakhand. “Write even if people do not believe you,” said Ma adding “how else will the lay people know the difficulties, pains and perils police personnel face while discharging their duties?”
