Leo Tolstoy

Leo Tolstoy was a renowned Russian writer, best known for his masterpieces War and Peace and Anna Karenina, widely regarded as two of the greatest works of realist fiction. Many consider Tolstoy to be one of the finest novelists in world literature. Beyond novels, he wrote numerous short stories, essays, and plays. He was also a profound moral thinker and social reformer. His ideas had a significant influence on Mahatma Gandhi, who admired Tolstoy’s philosophy and even published several of his stories in Hindi and Gujarati. Some of those works are included in this collection.
