Louisa May Alcott was an American author best known for her classic novel Little Women. Raised in Concord among leading thinkers like Ralph Waldo Emerson, she began writing to support her family and went on to achieve lasting success. During the American Civil War, she served as a nurse, later writing about her experiences in Hospital Sketches. A strong advocate for women’s rights, Alcott remains one of the most influential voices in American literature.
