Rick Riordan is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, along with The Kane Chronicles and The Heroes of Olympus. Before becoming a full-time writer, he taught English and history for 15 years and received the Master Teacher Award in 2002. He began his writing career with the award-winning Tres Navarre mystery series, earning the Edgar, Anthony, and Shamus awards. Riordan later turned to children’s fiction, creating The Lightning Thief as a bedtime story for his son. His books have sold over 35 million copies in the U.S. and have been translated into more than 35 languages. He currently lives in Boston with his family.
