have mixed feelings about this classic. On one hand, the core principles of the book are genuinely helpful. Carnegie's advice on active listening, empathy, seeing things from the other person's perspective, and treating people with respect is timeless and practical for anyone’s career or social life.On the other hand, the book is very much a product of 1936. As a modern reader, I found parts of it—especially the final section (Part 6) on marriage and "making your home life happier"—to be incredibly outdated, lopsided, and frankly misogynistic. It relies heavily on sexist tropes of the "nagging wife" ruining a husband's life and places all the emotional labor of a relationship on women to protect a man's ego.
